It's friday here at Only Angels, so let's listen to the cool sounds of hot guitar from Lowman "El" Pauling, aka Pete Pauling's band the 5 Royales. Steve Cropper of Stax-Volt fame was a big fan, and you can here the seeds of his style in cuts like this one, from the mid 1950s. Rock on.

I think this blog is going to evolve into an examination and hopefully a discussion on independent feature film making in this new era we seem to be entering: where people are broke but equipment is cheap; where distribution is 2.0, with the emphasis on the second numeral but all things are possible, where a hurricane is brewing, but it's taking its time.
